About Vickey

Many of the people I work with are intelligent, self-aware adults who have spent years trying to understand themselves. They understand *why* they struggle—but they still find themselves reacting in the same ways, getting stuck in the same relationships, or repeating the same patterns.

That's where my work is different.

Rather than simply talking about what's happening, we'll slow things down together and become curious about the deeper patterns driving your thoughts, emotions, and reactions. I'll ask questions you may never have been asked before—not to analyze you, but to help you notice connections that have been there all along. Once those patterns make sense, you're able to respond differently in the moments that matter. That's what creates lasting change.

My style is active, collaborative, and gently confrontational (yes, I'll call you out when it's helpful). I won't simply sit back and nod. I'll share observations, challenge assumptions, and help you recognize patterns you may not see on your own. Clients often tell me that the questions I ask are unexpected, but they're also the questions that help things finally click.

I also believe therapy should be a place where you can speak honestly without worrying that you'll be judged for your opinions, your beliefs, or the words you choose. Whether we're talking about politics, faith, family, or any other topic that's important to you, my office is a place for open conversation. You don't have to filter yourself or wonder whether you're being evaluated for saying the "wrong" thing. That freedom allows us to focus on what actually matters: understanding you.

People come to therapy for many different reasons—anxiety, relationship conflict, people-pleasing, overthinking, parenting struggles, perfectionism, or simply feeling stuck. Yet underneath those concerns, I often find the same thing: patterns that continue to shape people's lives, even though they don't fully understand where those patterns came from.

If you've ever thought, "I know why I do this... so why can't I stop?" you're exactly the kind of person I love working with.
